I am a carbon-based life form from the planet Earth who specializes in making noise. I have been audible since 1951. Early on I laughed, cried and gurgled, then, to the dismay of many; I spent several years talking until I stopped long enough.....More

I have been a member of KUNC for as long as I can remember, actually since 1993. I can’t imagine my life without KUNC. My journey to employment here has been interesting. I started my volunteer involvement with the station by answering phones during the on-air drives. From there I joined the Community Advisory board. I was president of the Advisory Board in February 2001, when UNC decided to sell the station license. ...More
I began working at KUNC while finishing my B.A. in Speech Communication at the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to my on-air duties, I currently spend my time previewing new music, and producing our "Air Currents" features, that spotlight new recordings. Much of what we do at KUNC reflects my true passions in life: promoting the arts, making connections .....More
I fell in love with public radio in high school and in college started my public radio career at a station in Southern New Mexico. I graduated with a degree in Journalism from New Mexico State University in 2004. After college I was an intern for NPR's Morning Edition in Washington DC, which was by far one of the best ...... I’ve always fancied myself a better writer than speaker, so it’s odd for me to find myself hosting Morning Edition. I got into journalism to exercise a reverence for language, and to come to know people through their stories. I hope trying to channel all of that into hosting will make me pithier, because brevity is not my strong suit... ...More
I joined KUNC in August of 1993 as host of "All Things Considered." It has been a privilege to have my reporting and feature work at KUNC recognized with awards from the Colorado Associated Press, Colorado Broadcasters Association, and the Society of Professional Journalists .....More
I first became a fan of public radio as a journalism student at Boston University, where I spent 2 years as a work-study student at WBUR. I moved to Colorado in 1990, and KUNC was the first Colorado station I found while scanning the dial as I drove across the state line. I've been a listener ever since. .....More

I've been with KUNC since 1986. I was first drawn to KUNC because of the diverse music. After spending 15 years on the air as an announcer and working as Music Director, I became KUNC's Program Director. I studied broadcasting and business at Colorado State University, earning my degree in 1980. .....More
Far from radio, I grew up and spent most of my adult life involved in the livestock industry. However, throughout my career with the USDA I did countless market report broadcasts. One of my favorite stories is about the guy who said he had to call the recording three times just to get the market information cuz he..... More
At the top of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs pyramid is the Self-Actualization triangle. This stage of mankind is defined as the instinctual need of humans to make the most of their abilities and to strive to be the best they can be. This is where the work of KUNC is best achieved. ...More
A childhood dream of mine was to be involved with radio broadcasting. Now that I am a big kid it pleases me greatly to be involved with one of the nation's premier NPR radio stations. As a broadcast journalism major at the University of Nebraska......More
I've spent most of my, fortunately still short, professional life in public radio, first as a state capitol reporter at Montana Public Radio, and then more recently covering Colorado's western slope as a reporter and then news director at Aspen Public Radio. My reporting has focused mostly on western resource issues and culture. ... More
