At the top of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs pyramid is the Self-Actualization triangle. This stage of mankind is defined as the instinctual need of humans to make the most of their abilities and to strive to be the best they can be. This is where the work of KUNC is best achieved. KUNC is an organization of individuals embracing the realities of the world and using their creative and problem-solving skills to connect community by informing and entertaining listeners. All in all, it’s a pretty cool place to work, and I’m glad to be a part of it. I started at KUNC in 2004 and was crazy enough to leave in 2005, but lucky enough to return in 2007. A student of media and marketing, I’ve been fortunate to work with quality media outlets, but nothing rivals the exuberance that KUNC listeners have for their station and visa-versa. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my lovely and understanding wife Kathleen, our two rockin’ kids Chelsea and Chloe, and our crazy dogs, Wallace and Otto.
