A Prairie Home Companion is coming to the big screen, at a movie theater near you!
In an exciting first for the show, a performance of A Prairie Home Companion at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, will be beamed live in high-definition exclusively to some 500 participating movie theaters and performing arts centers across the U.S. and Canada.
This special two-hour encore presentation begins at 6 p.m. Mountain, on Tuesday, February 9. Preceding the special presentation, the theater will show a 30-minute, specially produced "walk-in," featuring show trivia and other entertaining elements. Tickets are on sale now for $18.
As if fellow Companions didn't have enough reason to be excited about the special HD broadcast, British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello will once again join Garrison on-stage, along with special guests Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, Heather Masse, Robin and Linda Williams, the Royal Academy of Radio Actors (with two sound effects wizards) and The Guys All-Star Shoe Band.
PLUS—Garrison is busily creating an exclusive, one-of-a-kind on-screen pre-show warm-up that will begin about 30 minutes before showtime—So encourage audiences to arrive early! This half-hour special segment is likely to contain a mixture of elements including a live feed from the Fitz.
