Tomorrow marks the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown in Denver, when thousands of football fans will descend on Sports Authority Field to watch the University of Colorado square off with Colorado State University. The rivalry typically comes with it its fair share of melees and alcohol-fueled disturbances, and officials from both schools are ramping up calls for better sportsmanship among students and fans of the schools. 

The U.S. Labor Department says unemployment rates increased in 26 states last month. In spite of job losses, Colorado’s unemployment rate remains unchanged at 8.5%.

As Star Wars makes its newest & re-mastered appearance on Blu-ray today, we remember the radio play that aired on KUNC. Before CGI, Jar-Jar, and Special Editions, there was an analog friendly version of the trilogy where Han shot first and the Force will be with us, always.

September is usually the month for Colorado’s first frost which means an end to the vegetable garden and a lot of annual plants. But KUNC gardener Tom Throgmorton says there is still plenty of work to be done in and around the garden.
