Spring is far enough along in parts of the country that it seems appropriate to talk about the color of the season: Green. It's a color that's come to take on many meanings — envy, ecology, money and more. A new exhibition at the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C., celebrates green's symbolism. The show is called Green: The Color and the Cause.

There is some good news for airline travelers with lost bags or delayed flights. The Department of Transportation announces new passenger protection measures Wednesday.

It's bad enough when an airline loses your checked bag. It adds insult to the injury when they've charged you to check that bag and you can't get your money back.

Airlines will be required to refund any checked bag fee if that bag is lost. It only seems fair, but Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says the airline industry had to be forced into it.

Recently, we seem to have had some especially spectacular and even tragic defeats. But of course, in sport we don't devote much extended contemplation to those who lose –– unless, of course, they should come back and win.

Because of an air traffic controller's mistake, a military cargo jet and a plane carrying Michelle Obama came too close to each other, causing the Obama plane to abort its Monday landing at Andrews Air Force Base. Citing unnamed federal officials, The Washington Post reports:
