I joined KUNC in 1993 as the local host of All Things Considered. Since then I've worked my way through every job there is in the news department finally settling in as News Director in 2008. It's a privilege to work with a talented and dedicated staff covering Colorado news each day. And to think that I had never listened to public radio prior to coming to KUNC.

Dry Conditions, Low Humidity Increase Fire Danger

Two wildfires have broken out in northern Colorado since last Friday because of overly dry conditions. Humidity levels are currently below 15 percent along the Front Range and foothills. That coupled with strong winds has led to a Red Flag warning for fire danger on Wednesday.

But the dry conditions, and wind gusts up to 35 mph, will likely carry over to Thursday as well.
