 New Belgium Brewing’s cycling circus, Tour de Fat, is in Fort Collins today, September 1 at Civic Center Park. Tour de Fat rookies and veterans are encouraged to hop on a bike and help raise money for Overland Mountain Bike Club, Bike Fort Collins and Fort Collins Bike Co-op.

A Colorado ballot measure that seeks to legalize small amounts of marijuana has a new supporter, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Colorado Montana and Wyoming chapter.

The city of Lakewood is moving forward with a plan to impose a 3 percent city sales tax on soft drinks and candy. The new tax will be considered once more at a public hearing Monday August 27.

About 200 Colorado State University students are spending their day repainting the university’s Aggie ‘A.’ The ‘A’ is located on the foothills above CSU’s Hughes Stadium and the fall tradition of repainting it dates back to the 1920’s.

Colorado now has access to a federal immigration database designed to check the immigration status of voters. Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler says he finalized the agreement Friday with the Department of Homeland Security to use the verification system.
