Hello Berliners. My name is Robert H. Smith, and I will be the resident intern here at NPR Berlin this Winter.

I come to you by way of Austin, Texas, where I studied German and Anthropology at the University. Naturally, I also worked at my local college radio station with a little show called "Es Klingt Wie Deutsch" that had a big impact on the German-speaking community of Central Texas.

Now that I am with NPR, I hope to have just as great of an impact here. Berlin is a beautiful city, and I am excited about providing you with timely posts about its culture, events, and people.

During my internship, I will be busy doing what I enjoy— ensuring NPR Berlin, the only broadcast station licensed to NPR, lives up to our standards and is your favorite source of news, variety, and all things Berlin. This means I will be working across the many platforms of communication that NPR Berlin employs. Be sure to follow us not only on 104,1, but also on our Facebook page, , podcasts, and soon to be Berlin Flickr pool.

As you know, NPR is known for leading the way among media organizations in the digital arena. You may not realize, however, all the ongoing experimental projects we are working on. Below is a video that introduces you to some of the amazing digital "products" that NPR is developing for the public. Just don't look for them too hard anywhere, anytime soon. We want to hear from you in the comments section below.
