Civil Unions Legislation Initially Passes in Senate

A bill to legalize civil unions in Colorado brought out emotional responses from lawmakers on the senate floor on Wednesday. The measure initially cleared the senate. Supporters at times choked back tears, while lawmakers opposed to the measure were largely silent.
