The Two-Way
In Detroit, Package Stored By Guard For Three Weeks Was A Bomb
By Mark Memmott
The whole thing is "a total embarrassment," the president of the local chapter of the American Federation of Government Employees tells The Detroit News.
Indeed, as the News writes:
"A security officer at the McNamara Federal Building stored a suspicious package that turned out to contain a bomb for three weeks before alerting authorities."
It wasn't until Friday that the package was collected by the Detroit Police Department's bomb squad and detonated. The guard (employed by a private security firm that was contracted to provide security at the building) has been suspended. The FBI is investigating who sent the bomb.
