Fire Bans and Restrictions Imposed Along Front Range

Creative Commons

Late March is not usually the time for fire bans but overly dry and windy conditions have many counties on high alert.

With an active wildfire still burning in Jefferson County – the Sherriff’s Department has put a temporary fire ban in place for all lands in unincorporated areas of the county and federal land. Anything that produces a flame or that has the potential to create an uncontrolled fire is banned including smoking - unless it’s in a car or in an area cleared of combustible material. Arapahoe County and Denver have also adopted similar bans.

Larimer County officials have not imposed a fire ban or restrictions, but the Sherriff’s Offices is urging residents to exercise extreme caution during a time of high fire danger.
