Firefighters have built containment lines around 90% of the Waldo Canyon Wildfire burning west of Colorado Springs. Crews got some help last night when .4 inches of rain fell on the fire.

The number of personnel battling the blaze has decreased from more than 1200 to 776.

The Waldo Canyon Fire has destroyed 347 homes [.pdf] and is blamed for two fatalities. The 18,247 acre wildfire is the most destructive in Colorado's history. Cost of firefighting efforts have reached $14,537,514 since the blaze began June 23.

During this morning's press briefing, officials announced they've pinpointed the location where the wildfire started, but are still investigating how it ignited.

An anonymous source is offering a $50,000 reward for anyone providing information that leads to the capture and arrest of anyone stealing from evacuees or homes impacted by the Waldo Canyon Fire.
