Gift Shop Helps Julian Assange's Legal Defense

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

Julian Assange created the website WikiLeaks with the help of the public, supporters sending him donations. Now he's hoping to pay his mounting legal fees with a bit of entrepreneurship. A German company has launched on his behalf the WikiLeaks Gift Shop online. It sells products like the Not so Leaky Umbrella and t-shirts that say Free Assange. That would refer to sexual abuse accusations against him in Sweden that got him arrested in Britain.
