A coalition of groups advocating immigration reform will hold a rally Saturday in Greeley. Hundreds of supporters will be bused in from communities as far south as Pueblo.

Organizers say one of the goals of the gathering is to get elected officials like Congressman Cory Gardner to take a public position on immigration reform.

“Once we can get you know, a public statement from all of our elected officials then we can continue to work," said Angel Sanchez, one of the speakers at the rally.

"But as of right now the main focus is to make sure that our elected officials are not only telling us behind closed doors yes we do support you we do this but that they’re going to actually come out sand say the publicly,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez says having people from different socioeconomic backgrounds there will serve as a reminder of the huge impact of immigration on Colorado’s economy.
