High Park Fire Disaster Recovery Center To Close Friday

Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests / Pawnee National Grassland

As the need for immediate disaster assistance wanes, Larimer County’s High Park Fire Disaster Recovery Center at Johnson Hall on the Colorado State University campus will be closing its doors tomorrow.

It’s been almost a week since firefighters reached full containment on the High Park Fire burning west of Fort Collins. Those evacuated because of the blaze have since been able to return to their homes or at least to where their homes once stood since 259 were destroyed by the High Park Fire.

The center was open for abbreviated hours today and will again be open from 9 until 4 tomorrow before it's door close for the last time.

1,500 people have visited the site for help since it opened June 15.

The center provided clean-up/debris removal, information on ash and asbestos, vaccinations, air and water quality, septic systems, personal health information, financial, planning and building services, replacing important documents, Tetanus Immunizations and more.
