It was just a year ago that we wrote about then-16-year-old Lexi Thompson, who set a record when she won the Navistar LPGA Classic in Alabama. Her final was 2 under 70 to win. Barely old enough to drive a car, Lexi became the youngest victor in LPGA history.

Over the weekend, Lexi was moved from that perch by 15-year-old Lydia Ko, who on Sunday won the CN Canadian Women's Open. Lydia is now the youngest person ever to win an LPGA title. Yahoo!Sports says she "fired a near-flawless 5-under-67 during the final round."

Ko, who's keeping her amateur status, isn't eligible for tournament winnings. So second-place finisher Inbee Park received a check worth $300,000, and Ko takes home a trophy. Born in South Korea, Ko is now a resident of New Zealand, where she soon plans to return: That's because high school opens in October, notes USA Today.

Her plans are firm, she told Yahoo: "I'll still remain an amateur and then finish high school and then go to college. I mean, this is a great win, but I don't think this will affect me changing my routes to my career." Ko suggested she might try for Stanford University.

Ko recently won the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship earlier this month, but also turned heads last January by becoming the youngest winner ever at the New South Wales Open in Australia, says Reuters. She was 14 at the time.
