After the heat of the Holidays, events are still simmering this first week of January.
The 106thNational Western Stock Show opened yesterday in Denver and runs till the 22ndwith the Rodeo, Dog and horse competitions, Grand Prix, An Evening of Dancing Horses, A Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza, The Coors Western Art Show, muttin’ Bustin’, and a plethora of wonder—too much to go into here!
Tomorrow night, (12/7), enjoy two great singer songwriters: Trinity Demask and Lauren Brombert in the Tuft theatre at Denver’s Swallow Hill Music Hall, and the dynamic Sons and Brothers in Daniels Hall at Denver’s Swallow Hill- both shows at 8:00.
Sunday (1/8), CU School of Music presents the Takács Quartet in performance of
Britten (String Quartet No. 3, Op. 94, G.), Kerry (Variations for String Quartet), and .
Debussy (String Quartet, Op. 10 ) at 4PM at the Grusin Music Hall, Imig Music Building, in Boulder
The Blue Canyon boys bring great bluegrass to Avogadro's Number in Ft. Collins tonight starting at 8pm
Open Stage Theatre’s production of Alfred Hitchcock’s hilarious in this ingenious, The Thirty Nine Steps opens tomorrow night and runs till February 5thin Friday and Saturday shows at 8pm.
Justin Roth has a co-bill show with Mike Finders (of Finders & Youngberg) at 7:30 next Friday (Jan. 13), at Everyday Joe's Coffeehouse in Ft. Collins

Martin Luther King Jr. March and Celebration Downtown Greeley – Monday, January 16th. This year's event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with a community march from the Chamber of Commerce, 902 7th Avenue, to the Union Colony Civic Center at 701 10th Avenue. At 11:00 a.m. a program of speaker and music designed for all ages will continue the celebration of Dr. King's life and legacy.

Thursday, February 2nd, Annual UNC Lunar New Year Celebration and FREE Carnival at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley begin celebrating the New Year with a free carnival in the Fireside Lounge at the UC starting at 3pm, then from 5:30-8 PM, a delicious banquet of Asian cuisine, followed by entertainment by UNC students.
