Great music, art, theater, festivals, and celebrations along Colorado’s Front Range and in the mountains this weekend

What began as a trail ride up to Buffalo Bill’s grave in the 1840’s continues today as Golden continues its annual Buffalo Bill Days Celebration through Sunday with many fun events including Cody’s Wild West, the Best of the West Parade, Muttin Bustin, live music, a classic car show and more.  

Centennial Village Fair Days is a day of old time revelry and celebration at the Meeker Home in Greeley. Bring your own picnic lunch or just come and join Greeleyites of the past in games and sport of 100 years ago at Centennial Village Fair Days.   Play a game of horseshoes, badminton, or graces as it would have been done over 100 years ago. Hear the tales of the Meeker family and their ordeal with the Ute Indians as you tour this remarkable historic home. Free old fashioned Lemonade and Cake will be served in the afternoon!  10am-4pm today and tomorrow, noon – 4 on Sunday.

Friday Fest tonight on the plaza in Historic Downtown Greeley kicks off the Arts Picnic Kick-off.   Enjoy this special Friday Fest celebration featuring the music of  "Funkiphino"  - then come downtown tomorrow and Sunday for one of Greeley's premier events - the annual Greeley Arts Picnic tomorrow & Sunday (July 28 & 29), 9:00AM-5:00PM/ 9-4 A wonderful gathering of artists & crafters, food booths, a beer garden, live music, and children's entertainment! This top-rated festival is a great place to spend the day with the whole family!

Greensky Bluegrass bring their custom blend of nouveau acoustic traditionalism to the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Bellvue tonight at 6:00 (7/26)

The Allenspark Performing Arts Group presents a musical revue including Broadway hits from Annie, Oliver!, and The Fantastics at an outdoor fund-raiser featuring a new stage, lighting, and sound system with plenty of comfortable covered seating, great picnic spots, and beautiful views tonight, and tomorrow night at 7:30 and Sunday at 2pm at the Old Gallery in Allenspark.

The Smithereens perform tonight as part of the Louisville Street Faire –enjoy the music along with  lots of children’s activities, quality arts, crafts, and sundries.

David Wilcox has a show at The Mishawaka tomorrow night (7/28) at 8, as a
"Friend Raiser" for Friends of Happy Heart Farm, raising awareness for Feeding the Families, a program to provide health organic produce for low-income families in Larimer County.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival presents Noises Off tonight at 7:30 and Sunday at 2 at the University theatre.  Women of Will Pt. 4 tomorrow afternoon at 2pm at the University theatre , and Treasure Island on Sunday Mary Rippon outdoor theatre at 6:30 on the CU campus in Boulder .

The Little Theater of the Rockies’s presents The Full Monty tonight and tomorrow night (7/27-28) at 7:30 and Sunday (7/29) at 4pm at the Langworthy Theatre on the UNC campus in Greeley. 970 - 351 – 2200 

Cheyenne Frontier Days continues through Sunday (7/29) concerts, celebrations of our western heritage, a wonderful Western Art Show, and the rodeo.

Upcoming Events-

Next Sunday, the sounds of string bands and bluegrass music will drift across Buffalo Bill’s grave at the 9th Annual Mountain Melodies Music Festival. The festival annually highlights both established and new musical talent from Colorado’s Front Range communities. this FREE event will be on Sunday, August 5 from Noon to 5:00 p.m.

Acclaimed Delta bluesman Johnny Long will turn Ft. Collin’s Bas Bleu Theatre into a blues joint for two shows next weekend.  Praised by blues legend Muddy Waters, who once called Long “The best country blues player around," Long has shared the stage with Waters well as musical titans such as B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, George Thorogood and James Brown. Next Saturday and Sunday (8/4&5) 7:30pm.

High Plains Chautauqua 2012- Courage & Conviction in America begins Auugust 7th and runs till the 11th  at Aims Community College in Greeley
