Latest Evacuations for Crystal Fire Lifted

Residents that left their homes last night as part of a precautionary evacuation after winds flared up the Crystal fire have been allowed back into their homes.More than 20 homes were evacuated. Roads into the burn area northwest of Masonville are only open to residents. Cooler, wetter weather is settling in today. The fire has burned 5 square miles and destroyed about 15 homes. So far the blaze, which is made up of a larger fire and a nearby smaller one, is 15 percent contained. Governor John Hickenlooper will visit the fire’s command post this afternoon.
