This week the city of Loveland will negotiate the sale of the former Agilent technology site with a Kentucky-based developer, Cumberland & Western Resources LLC. The Aerospace and Clean Energy, or ACE, technology park could house as many as 80 manufacturing companies in the coming years.
Economic Director for Loveland Betsey Hale says in addition to the property purchase, Cumberland and Western Resources executives will start meeting with local economic development partners like the Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology—or CAMT—which is partnering with NASA on the effort.
“They’re taking a deliberate process approach,” she said. “They want to have everything tightened up with the city, then they’ll get into active negotiations with CAMT.”
The city and Cumberland have until about Nov. 6 to finalize the contract, which marks the end of a 30-day negotiation period.
Once it’s fully up and running the site could bring as many as 7,000 jobs to Northern Colorado.
