New Jersey Legislature Approves Cuts In Benefits

And Greeks aren't the only ones being asked to tighten their belts. Yesterday, the New Jersey legislature approved deep cuts and benefits for government workers and retirees.

STEVE INSKEEP, Host:

State and local workers would have to contribute more to their health insurance and pension plans and they will lose use collective bargaining rights over health benefits. The new legislation also raises retirement ages for public sector workers and suspends cost of living increases in their pensions.
