Obama Says He's Targeting Barriers To Business

RENEE MONTAGNE, Host:

NPR's business news starts with the president at the Chamber of Commerce.

(SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC)

MONTAGNE: President Obama is speaking right now at one of the country's most powerful business groups. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been a major adversary of the administration's policies. Today's speech is a continuation of President Obama's campaign to improve relations with business. The president promised to reduce regulations that pose barriers to doing business, and he also called on businesses to hire more American workers. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
