Peter Fonda Comes Across A Dead Body

One of the odder stories to get attention late Wednesday was TMZ.com's report that it had been told by "sources" that actor Peter Fonda discovered a dead body in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.

The Associated Press now writes that Los Angeles police confirm the story. Sgt. Carlton Cook at the West Los Angeles Community Police Station tells the AP that Fonda called police after seeing a car parked on the side of Sunset Boulevard, a man's body inside.

According to TMZ, authorities believe the man may have committed suicide and that his body might have been there for a couple days.

Fonda, the son of Henry and brother of Jane, is probably best known for his role as "Captain America" (or "Wyatt") in the 1969 movie Easy Rider. He turns 71 next month.
