Spirit Airlines will use A319 and A320 planes for service to DIA.

The low-cost carrier will begin four daily flights out of Denver International Airport starting in May. The new addition could help you save money when booking a fare at DIA.

Departing from Concourse A, Spirit Airlineswill offer non-stop service from Denver to Chicago, Las Vegas, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Ft. Lauderdale.

With fare trackers like Expedia and Priceline seeing low-cost carriers Southwest and JetBlue increasing their fares to cover higher fuel costs,Airport spokesman Jeff Green says Spirit will continue to keep average airfares for the Denver Market among the lowest in the country.

“Healthy competition is key to keeping fares competitive. With Spirit Airlines joining the airline family at Denver International Airport, we’ll certainly keep airfares as competitive as they possibly can be.”

Spirit Airlines is known for very low fares and giving passengers options at additional cost. For example, the airline has a 30 dollar carry-on bag fee as well as additional fees for printing tickets at an airport kiosk.
