Stricken Soccer Player Fabrice Muamba Tweets Smiling Photo

From being "in effect, dead" after suffering a heart attack during a game on March 17, English Premier League soccer player Fabrice Muamba has recovered enough to today of him smiling way from a hospital bed.

"Fab wanted me to post this pic for you all and to also say thank you for such overwhelming support," she adds.

The BBC says that isn't know yet whether the 23-year-old Muamba "will ever be fit enough to play top-flight football again." But the chairman of his team, Bolton Wanderers, "says the club will find a role for him should he have to retire."

In related news, the British student sentenced to 56 days in jailfor posting racist tweets about Muamba has lost his appeal of that judgment, The Guardian says.
