Toxic Waste Candy Lives Up To Its Name

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

A brand of candy is living up to its name. The brand is Toxic Waste and for the second time this year, the FDA has found the company's sweets to be actually toxic. First it was the Nuclear Sludge Chew Bars. Now it's their Short Circuit Bubble Gum. Both products have been recalled due to elevated levels of lead. The candy, imported from Pakistan, is sold under the tag line: hazardously sour candy.
