Rivers in northern and western Colorado continue to swell as Colorado’s record snowpack melts amid rising June temperatures.  Residents along the Eagle River downstream of Vail were bracing for more flooding Friday, as is much of the Steamboat Springs area.

Democratic Senator Michael Bennet and Republican 4th Congressional District Representative Cory Gardner made a bipartisan swing through Northern Colorado today, highlighting successes and challenges that businesses face in the region.

The biggest fire — called the Wallow Fire — has grown to 640 square miles — that's more than half the size of Rhode Island. Firefighters in eastern Arizona say winds have died down a bit. The blaze is about 5 percent contained. So far, 29 homes have been destroyed.
