Depending on who you talk to, folk singer and environmentalist John Denver was either revered or reviled in Colorado.  And a petition circulating to name a mountain peak near Aspen after him is reopening the debate about his legacy in the Rocky Mountain state. 

In the 2009 film Crazy Heart, Jeff Bridges played a country singer named Bad Blake. The character was fictional, but Bridges' passion for country music is real. Now he has recorded an album with some of the people who helped him portray a musician on-screen. His studio album, Jeff Bridges, comes out Aug. 16 on Blue Note Records.

George Robinson's parents never married, and he didn't know his biological father. Growing up, Robinson always wondered what his dad was like. It took Robinson more than 40 years to find him, eventually tracking him down on the Internet, and it turns out his father never knew he had a son.

Robinson recently told his 19-year-old daughter, Katie, about finally meeting his father.

New data from the Colorado Division of Housing shows foreclosure filings and sales at auction dropped significantly in the first half of the year.

Colorado cities are making progress toward a 2007 carbon emissions goal set by former Governor Bill Ritter.

The so-called Colorado Climate Action Plan aims to reduce the state’s footprint 20 percent by the year 2020. Fort Collins is reporting an 11 percent drop between 2005 and 2010.

“You could look at our progress and say we’re over halfway there, only nine [percent] more to meet the goal,” said Lucinda Smith with the city’s Environmental Services Division. “But we’re likely to have continued growth so it will take continued focus and work to make progress on this.”
