Fern Lake Fire officials were preparing for a night of difficult weather conditions Sunday, with potential sustained wind gusts of up to 75 miles per hour.
High winds are helping spread the Fern Lake Fire. The fire has charred nearly 2.5 square miles and exploded to over 3,000 acres. With high winds forecast for Sunday afternoon and evening, additional growth may be seen.
