Interior Revises Western Solar Plan

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has issued a revised plan to fast-track solar power development on desert lands in six western states – including Colorado.  The new plan reduces the amount of public land available for solar projects to about 285,000 acres, amid opposition from local groups in places like Colorado’s San Luis Valley.

EPA Chief in Denver Promoting Pollution Regs

In Denver Monday, President Obama’s top environmental official touted Colorado’s new law requiring that aging coal fired power plants be retired or converted to cleaner-burning natural gas by 2016. Environmental Protection Agency director Lisa Jackson also toured National Jewish Health to look at research linking air pollution to public health.
