This is WEEKEND EDITION from NPR News. I'm Linda Wertheimer.

President Obama is in Colombia today, along with 33 leaders, gathered for the Summit of the Americas. During his visit, the president hopes to highlight growing economic ties within the region. On his way to Colombia, Mr. Obama made a swing-state pit-stop in Tampa, Florida.

NPR's Scott Horsley reports.

So far this year, exports of Colorado agricultural goods are up by more than 30% compared to the same period last year.  That’s according to new statistics by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. 

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has joined a bi-partisan group of governors calling on Congress to ratify three long-pending free trade agreements with Panama, Columbia and South Korea.
