This week's blast of winter weather is helping tamp down the Fern Lake Fire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park, although fire officials aren’t ready to declare it out just yet.
Weekend snowfall and colder temperatures this past weekend helped fire crews get a handle on the Fern Lake Fire, which is currently reported at 3,498 acres and 88 percent containment.
