High Park Fire: 68,200 Acres, Optimism About Additional Containment

Currently at 68,200 acres, the High Park Fire continues to burn west of west of Fort Collins. Containment remains at 55%, but fire officials are optimistic about additional containment by the end of day.

Inside the High Park Fire Burn Zone

The media were allowed a first glimpse of what it looks like inside the High Park Fire burn zone on Wednesday. An escorted caravan along the lower part of the Poudre Canyon—Highway 14—showed charred black and gray hillsides. Perhaps most remarkable was the random path of the fire. As KUNC’s Grace Hood reports, some homes were leveled, while the rest of the block was left standing.

High Park Fire: 65,738 acres, Soldier Canyon & Mill Canyon Evacuations Lifted

High Park Fire: 50% Containment, Pre-evacuation Notice For The Rustic Area

The High Park Fire is still burning west of Fort Collins and is currently 50% contained. A new pre-evacuation notice was sent for the Rustic area including Glen Echo this morning.
