Two new studies point to a contradiction about full-time online schools – student academic performance is lower than that of students statewide but parents and students are positive about the online experience.

StateImpact Florida is reporting that teachers at K12 Inc.-managed schools may be responsible for as many as 275 students. The company manages taxpayer-funded virtual schools in more than 30 states, including Colorado Virtual Academy, the state’s largest online K-12 school.

Big changes are in the works for the state’s largest full-time online k-12 school, Colorado Virtual Academy. The school and its management company, K12 Inc., are considering separating into a K-8 school and a high school, according to K12 Inc. Regional Vice President Mary Gifford.
