Video Evidence Helps Acquit Student in First Occupy Wall Street Trial

Alexander Arbuckle, the defendant in the first Occupy Wall Street case to go to trial, has been found not guilty after video of the incident he was involved in showed him breaking no laws. The Village Voice reports:

"The protesters, including Arbuckle, were in the street blocking traffic, Officer Elisheba Vera testified. The police, on the sidewalk, had to move in to make arrests to allow blocked traffic to move. But there was a problem with the police account: it bore no resemblance to photographs and videos taken that night."

Occupy Movement Marks May Day With Protests

The Occupy protest movement was out in force Tuesday. May 1 is traditionally a day for labor demonstrations. For the most part, the demonstrations were noisy and theatrical but restrained.

May Day Protests Underway In U.S., Worldwide

From Brazil to England, from Morocco to Paraguay, May Day protests are on their way.

Here in the United States we're seeing protests in both coasts from New York to Los Angeles.

Here's how The Wall Street Journal set up the protests in Manhattan:

"Protesters kicked off May Day in Midtown Manhattan with apparently peaceful pickets outside the offices of major corporations and dozens of smaller targets, including restaurants and bank branches.
