Caucusing tonight, Colorado Republicans will conduct a largely symbolic preference-poll on who they’d like to see challenge President Obama this fall.  Presumed front-runner Mitt Romney will watch the caucus results at an event tonight in downtown Denver.  Newt Gingrich is on his way to Ohio.

Colorado holds its Republican caucuses on Tuesday. Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul have all focused their attention here recently. The state will also be a key battleground in the general election contest.

The drama surrounding Republican representative Laura Bradford’s suspected drunken driving incident has dominated life under the state capitol’s gold dome for about a week. Bradford is now threatening to leave the Republican Party, which would put the GOP's control of the statehouse in the balance.

While hotels along the Vegas Strip are full of Super Bowl fans and convention attendees this weekend, another event will be playing out Saturday at more than 100 locations across the state.
