For the first time since June 2009, Denver International Airport saw traffic numbers drop in February.

DIA keeps track of monthly passenger traffic to plan for the future of the facility and make sure flight operations go as smoothly as possible, among other things.  Passenger numbers have been steadily climbing each month since 2009; 2010 was a record-setting passenger traffic year.  But this year traffic number declined in February.

Schiavone says despite February’s dip year to date traffic numbers remain strong, and the busiest time, the summer months, are fast approaching
