Gas Price Fall Nationally, in Colorado

Creative Commons

With the unofficial start to the summer driving season just ahead motorists are starting to pay a bit less at the pump both nationally and here in Colorado.

Gas prices nationwide dropped 9 cents over the past two weeks. In Colorado they were down 2.9 cents last week. And unless oil prices start going up analyst Trilby Lundberg says they could go down even more before Memorial Day.

“There’s no guarantee that oil prices won’t jump back up but if they hover right around where they are we could easily seen a dime or more in the next several days,” Lundberg said on Sunday.

The latest Lundberg survey puts the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline at $3.91. Jackson, Mississippi had the nation's lowest price at $3.60. Chicago is the highest at $4.38. Colorado’s average is $3.72 a gallon.
