Chicago Judge Officiates Inmate's Wedding

DAVID GREENE, host:

Good morning. I'm David Greene.

Tharvin Benitez and Jessica Ortiz had one strange wedding. The groom was standing in a Chicago courtroom in handcuffs and orange prison fatigues. Benitez was before a judge facing 30 years in prison on drug charges. He's also expecting a baby and asked the judge to please officiate the I-dos before his girlfriend delivers. The judge performed the ceremony. No kissing, though. A prison inmate can't touch a visitor. That includes his bride.
