We may not find out what this year’s Nobel Prize winners really mean to our world until years from now. That is if the history of the prizes, especially in science, is any indication.
At least some of the time, winners in the past have studied something that may have seemed obscure then, but decades later, it ended up becoming essential to how we live our lives.
