Drought Continues to Hurt Colorado Aspen Trees

Aspen trees in Colorado and the west have been decimated by a long and exceptionally dry drought. The southern Rockies lost more than 1.3 million trees alone between 2005 and 2010.

When climate change is factored in, the outlook for Aspens in Colorado is bleak – largely because scientists are still trying to figure out what can be done to save the trees.
