Denver Doctors Can See You Soonest

People in Denver spent less time in waiting rooms last year than the rest of the nation. The average patient wait in Denver clocked in at 15 minutes and 15 seconds in 2012.

The rankings come from Vitals.com. The average wait time for cities in 2012 clocked in at 19 minutes and 42 seconds.

The top 5 major U.S. cities

  1. Denver, CO - 15:15 wait time
  2. Minneapolis, MN – 15:44 wait time
  3. Milwaukee, WI – 16:02 wait time
  4. Seattle, WA – 16:28 wait time
  5. Portland, OR – 16:28 wait time

Colorado didn’t crack the top five for states with short patient wait time in 2012. The state ranked 8th nationally averaging 18 minutes and 10 seconds wait time to see a doctor.

  1. Alaska – 16:28
  2. Wisconsin – 16:29
  3. Minnesota – 17:08
  4. New Hampshire – 17:10
  5. North Dakota – 17:43

The average wait time for all 50 states in 2012 was 20 minutes and 15 seconds, Nevada logged the longest wait time at 23 minutes and 2 seconds.

The Vitals.com report notes that overall, the shortest state average physician wait time in 2012 actually increased by more than a full minute over 2011.
