Get Involved: Greeley Downtown Development Authority

Downtown Greeley Art

The Greeley Downtown Development Authority is a nonprofit that works to foster economic development and revitalization within the city’s downtown area.

“The downtown development authority is tasked with creating a thriving and vibrant heart for your city, a soul for your city, a place where people come and to commune with each other,” said Alison Hamling, the director of experience.

The Greeley DDA has many projects and services they provide for the public. They provide a long list of things that include public art, maintenance, parking, safety, historic preservation, events, and so much more.

“Seeing the people smiles when they come to the events, seeing the people dancing and having a good time and communing like neighbors,” said Hamling. “That's what makes it all so rewarding.”

The Greeley DDA isn’t the only one in Colorado and if you want to find a way to get involved with your city, here are a few quick links to some downtown development authorities that have volunteer pages online:

Get Involved Colorado is a series that highlights nonprofit organizations across the state that are looking for volunteers. If you know of an organization that needs an extra set of hands and volunteers with passionate hearts, contact host/producer Karlie Huckels at karlie.huckels@kunc.org.
