"Metro Police have made an arrest in a brazen [Dec. 14] stickup at the Bellagio in which a man armed with a handgun and wearing a motorcycle helmet stole some $1.5 million in casino chips from a craps table," The Las Vegas Sun reports. "Anthony Carleo, 29, of Las Vegas was arrested on counts of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, burglary with use of a deadly weapon and trafficking in a controlled substance."
What's more, as the Las Vegas Review-Journalwrites, Carleo is "the son of Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge George Assad. He was arrested, the newspaper adds, "after he met undercover officers to sell high-value chips taken in the heist, law enforcement sources said."
There's no word yet on whether Carleo will also be charged in a similar robbery on Dec. 8 at the Suncoast casino.
