Well, at least the moth was OK when it was pulled out of St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday's ear Monday night.
According to the Post Dispatch, Holliday even took the little critter home with him.
We can't vouch for its fate after that.
As the newspaper reports, "Holliday had to leave Monday's game in the eighth inning after a moth flew into his right ear and became lodged in the canal." Pictures and video show he was in some pain.
Holliday was taken to a dark room, MLB.com says, "in hopes the moth would seek light and fly out. However, the insect had gone in headfirst and was unable to turn around. Thus, tweezers had to be used to remove it."
And after this creepy diversion, it's time to get back to the other news of the day.
