Colorado State University has announced a 15-year, $37.7 million deal with Public Service Credit Union for the naming rights to university’s new, on-campus stadium. So -- what do you need to know?
- The unnamed stadium is, for now, till unnamed. PSCU is expected to announce the new name -- which will be “in alignment with their name” -- in the coming weeks.
- In 2016, an anonymous donor gave the university $20 million to transfer the rights for the former Hughes Stadium’s Sonny Lubick Field -- named after CSU’s former football coach, and now PSCU’s Vice President of Community Outreach -- to the new on-campus stadium.
- The $225 million facility opened last summer, bringing Rams football back to the campus for the first time in 50 years. The season set an attendance record of 192,369 fans with an average game attendance of 32,062. Season ticket sales also increased 40 percent to 15,500.
- Demolition of Hughes Stadium began this week.
