Last week, we brought you a three-part series on changes to policing systems in Boulder County. Today, KUNC's Leigh Paterson tells us about recent legislation that has changed the world of liability for Colorado law enforcement officers. And, while some adjustments to policing are internal, the Mountain West News Bureau’s Madelyn Beck shares how some law enforcement agencies are navigating the growing fentanyl crisis in Western states. And as we continue to remember the lives of those lost in the Sept. 11 attacks, Oren Bersagel-Briese of the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department tells us about the 17th annual memorial stair climb at Red Rocks Amphitheater, which honors firefighters who died in the line of duty.

Our theme music was composed by Colorado musicians Briana Harris and Johnny Burroughs. Other music in the show by Blue Dot Sessions.

Colorado Edition is hosted by Erin O'Toole (@ErinOtoole1) and Henry Zimmerman. Our production team includes Tess Novotny (@tess_novotny), Alana Schreiber (@ayyschreib) and Rae Solomon (@raedear1). KUNC news director Brian Larson is our executive producer. Web was edited by digital editor Jackie Hai.
