PHOTOS: Spirit Of The Canyon Survives Fire And Flood

Spirits were high on Sunday at this year's annual whitewater race. The race was run in "blackwater" as soot ran into the Poudre River from High Park Fire burn areas.

These pictures were from Sunday's "Gnarrows" race in the Poudre Narrows. The Poudre Canyon has been through both the High Park Fire and the Hewlett Gulch Fire this year. Additionally, the July monsoon rains have just arrived and brought mudslides and flash flood warnings.

You can see the "blackwater" and the effect of the run-off in this video of running the narrows uploaded by user fgreenough.
