RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne with the answer to a future baseball trivia question. The Philadelphia Phillies had a problem against the Cincinnati Reds the other night. By the 19th inning, the Phillies had used up all their relief pitchers. With his teammates snickering, second baseman Wilson Valdez took the mound. Valdez proceeded to pitch a scoreless inning for the win. The last player to start the game in the field and win on the mound was Babe Ruth in 1921.
