E.U. Court Rules In Endangered Hamsters Favor

Good morning. I'm Linda Wertheimer.

The Great Hamster of Alsace is the last wild hamster species in Western Europe. It's also a major headache for France. The E.U.'s highest court ruled France has failed to protect the endangered rodent and its food supply. Corn has crowded out the hamster's grass and alfalfa. Unless the French become more hamster friendly, the court threatens fines in the millions.
